- Plan and prepare.
- Work instructions, including plans, specifications, quality requirements and operational details are obtained from relevant information, confirmed and applied to the scope of work performed.
- Safety (OHS) requirements are followed in accordance with safety plans and policies.
- Signage and barricade requirements are identified and implemented.
- Plant, tools and equipment selected to carry out tasks that are consistent with the requirements of the job, checked for serviceability and any faults are rectified or reported prior to commencement.
- Materials quantity requirements are calculated in accordance with plans, specifications and quality requirements.
- Materials appropriate to the work application are identified, obtained, prepared, safely handled and located ready for use.
- Environmental requirements are identified for the project in accordance with environmental plans and statutory and legislative authority obligations and applied.
- Prepare valley section for repair.
- Damaged area is identified and located in accordance with plans and specifications.
- Fall arrest system is installed to roof perimeter in accordance with regulatory and workplace requirements.
- Tiles to be repaired or replaced are identified from a removed sample.
- Damaged tiles are removed to ensure minimum disturbance to remaining roof tiles.
- Pointing or mortar is removed ensuring no damage to roof tiles.
- Damaged area is left clean and free of loose waste.
- Roof structure valleys and flashing installations are checked for soundness and adequacy according to specifications and manufacturer recommendations.
- Repair valley sections.
- Damaged structural components of valley section of roof are disassembled and repaired or replaced in accordance with job specifications and manufacturer recommendations.
- Roof tie down fixings are replaced or installed to roof structure in accordance with job specifications and manufacturer recommendations.
- Replacement valley flashings are fabricated and installed in accordance with job specifications and manufacturer recommendations.
- Work area and material surface are cleaned free of debris and waste materials in accordance with workplace procedures.
- Replacement and recycled roof tiles are retained and sorted to ensure conformity to requirements in matching original roof tiles to specification.
- Loose mortar is removed from roof tile surface and mortar joints are struck to match existing or specified colour of roof tiles.
- Replace roof tiles.
- Roof tiles are examined individually to ensure conformity to requirements in matching original tiles.
- Mortar is mixed to required composition to match original specifications.
- Roof tiles are laid to maintain conformity to original gauge and alignment, while maintaining bond to specifications.
- Roof tiles are laid to produce designed features in accordance with original design and specifications.
- Replace pointing material.
- Clean up.
- Work area is cleared and materials disposed of, reused or recycled in accordance with legislation, regulations, codes of practice and job specification.
- Plant, tools and equipment are cleaned, checked, maintained and stored in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and standard work practices.
